Workshop on Energy & Environmental Management

The objective of the workshop is to present the purpose, approach and results to be achieved by this project. The project which is funded by the European Union Pro-Invest programme is being executed through a joint initiative between the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) and the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC) of Trinidad and Tobago.

Presenters: Consultants from Caribbean Esco & Egis Bceom International

The primary objective of the is to build private sector capacity in environmental and energy management and to promote a successful regional and national collaborative approach to efficient energy use and environmental sustainability. During the event, the Consultant will present the approaches to Environmental and Energy Audits and the tools for further implementation of the energy efficiency measures such as Energy Management Action Plan (EMAP) and Energy Conservation Education and Awareness Programme (ECEAP).

As part of this workshop, we will be discussing the following topics:

  • Background and driving force for Environmental Management (EM), Energy Efficiency (EE), and Renewable Energy (RE) in the Caribbean, and in particular the private sector
  • Energy consumption and conservation in privately owned facilities
  • Financial and technical issues
  • Practical suggestions
  • How to read and utilize the energy and environmental audit reports.
  • Energy Management Action Plan (EMAP): how to implement the EE and EM measures and monitor their effectiveness
  • Discussions and way forward with expert panel and participants
