A major player in the Energy Sector invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Manager, Renewables and Energy Efficiency

The Position:

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the renewable and energy efficiency strategic goals and growth objectives for its renewable energy research, consisting of generation technologies, grid integration and energy storage. In addition, the Manager will also have responsibility for the development of short and long-term capital and non-capital energy efficiency projects and strategies, to ensure an integrated approach to renewable energy, and energy efficiency development in Jamaica.
The Requirements:

At least a Master’s degree in engineering and /or related field in renewable energy.
Minimum of five [5] years professional experience in a managerial position with extensive knowledge and experience in energy diversification strategies, business development, legislative framework governing the energy sector;
Demonstrated success at working with the scientific, technical  and business community at large to assess opportunities for new and innovative research projects;
A record of creativity and entrepreneurship leading to technology or knowledge innovation with significant impact on the renewable and energy efficiency sector;
Ability to communicate research issues, approaches, and findings with non-specialists as well as with scientists, technical and industry players;
Strong negotiating skills and ability to work with foreign investors and principals;

Strong analysis, planning, organizing and leadership skills;
Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

A Ph.D. in engineering or any aspect of renewable energy and experience in power generation, transmission systems and operations would be advantageous.
