The Government of Jamaica (GoJ) has received financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) towards the cost of the Energy Security and Efficiency Enhancement Project (ESEEP). This project is being implemented by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining (STEM), the executing agency in collaboration with several other state implementing partners. The GoJ intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for a suitable qualified firm to give the GOJ/MSTEM guidance on the possibilities and impact on the SMART grid as first step into a SMART Energy system for Jamaica.

Scope of Works:
The scope of the works shall include but is not limited to:
a) To Develop a Smarter Energy Roadmap prioritizing activities needed over a 5 – 10 year timeframe;
b) Develop a summary of Smart Grid opportunities and challenges based on the identified priority areas.
c) Develop recommendations for an implementation plan based on high level cost-benefit analysis

This assignment is expected to require 6 man month of effort from the consulting firm.
