Renewable Energy Islands Index for the Caribbean

The Renewable Energy Islands Index for the Caribbean was launched at the recently concluded 2012 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum.

The Index measures readiness to develop and implement renewable energy projects. The Overall Score is derived from scores on:

  1. Enabling environment for renewable energy investments
  2. Renewable energy projects already implemented
  3. Pipeline of potential renewable energy projects

Purpose:

  • Track real progress and prospects in renewable energy investments in the Caribbean
  • Help project developers and financiers see where the action is
  • Help governments attract renewable energy investments

Dominica is at the top of the rankings, while the British Virgin Islands languish at the bottom. You can see the complete rankings in the document embedded below, which was produced by Castalia Strategic Advisors.

The magazines, RenewableEnergyWorld.com, POWER-GEN International, NUCLEAR POWER International, Renewable Energy World Conference & Expo North America and the Financial Forum are all owned by PennWell Corp., a worldwide media company based in Tulsa, Okla.
