RE meeting in Trinidad & Tobago – March 10th, 2010

This meeting will bring together relevant professionals active in the field of renewable energy from the region to discuss what can be done to address climate change. in addition , the meeting will seek to solidify commitments and proposals by regional partners for substantive actions to be taken in ares relating to clean energy and climate change, energy security and the alleviation of energy poverty. This is all in anticipation of the April 2010 Western Hemisphere Energy Ministerial, scheduled to take place in Washington D.C. A draft agenda of the Meeting is at the link above.

The deliverable coming out of this meeting will be a report that summarizes the key issues facing the CARICOM region in the renewable energy sector and identifies what actions can be taken to address climate change.

The meeting will have representatives from CARICOM, CEIS, ECLAC, OLADE, Representatives of the renewable energy centres in Chile, Peru and Colombia, Officials of the US Department of Energy as well as officials of relevant Ministries of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
