Las Tunas Wind Farm, Cuba


Works are advancing according to schedule on the wind park to be built for Energoimport’s project in Cuba’s Las Tunas province. The renewable energy investment is entirely financed by Cuba, using Chinese technology. The 51MW facility will be the largest of its kind in Cuba, and aligns with the island’s goal to generate at least 10% of its electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030.

The wind turbines are supplied by Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., China’s biggest wind-turbine maker by market value, will supply .


The 34 turbines are expected to be delivered by the end of 2014 and construction of the Herradura project is expected to be completed by June 2015.
