JPS launches SolarMill power generator

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) will on Tuesday officially launch its SolarMill — a hybrid wind and solar power generator — at the company’s Ruthven Road office in Kingston.

SolarMill, an innovative renewable energy product designed to capture both solar and wind power, goes on sale throughout the Caribbean this month via the JPS eSTORE, the retail electricity distribution company said.

According to the JPS, the eSTORE which first opened its doors in Kingston in April 2013 empowers its customers through the promotion of energy-saving products such a Digital Energy Timer and the SolarMill.

Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell and Daniel Bates, president of Windstream Technologies, manufacturers of the SolarMill, are scheduled to make presentations at the launch.
