The European Union-Caribbean Sustainable Energy Conference will be held 10-11 October, 2016, in Barbados at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Conference Centre.
The conference is a joint EU-CARIFORUM initiative, designed to enable Caribbean countries and territories to work with the EU and other development partners towards achieving their ambitious renewable energy goals and targets.
This two-day event will bring together 200 participants, including high-level representatives from the EU, Caribbean countries, international donors and financial institutions, and the private sector.
On the first day, the high–level discussions will focus on the latest policy developments in the Caribbean that support increased investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency, and on the new financing instruments, namely ElectriFI and the new Caribbean Investment Facility- CIF, that help de-risk renewable investments.
On the second day, the Business Opportunities Forum will highlight key areas of interest especially for the private sector in investing in renewable energy as well as energy efficiency. During this second day, the participants will also have dedicated access to meeting room facilities for one-to-one consultations and networking meetings.
‘Table type’ exhibition stands will also be available for participants to show-case their materials. A total of 25 stands are available and they are free of charge. All the coffee breaks and lunches are foreseen to take place around the exhibition area so as to ensure maximum visibility to the exhibitors.
