Digicel Jamaica, through a partnership with the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ), played host to students from Guy’s Hill High School, Carron Hall High School, Clarendon College and Holmwood Technical High School on 19 and 22 March.

The interactive tour saw students and teachers exploring the Digicel Headquarters, the greenest office building in the Caribbean, from top to bottom.

The PCJ’s Schools Energy Programme engages primary and high school students through essay, science and poster competitions, educational seminars and guided tours.

This is the fourth year that Digicel has facilitated these field trips, which allow students and teachers to get a first-hand look at some aspects of energy production and gain practical exposure to energy efficiency and conservation methods.

In line with the company’s commitment to green initiatives, the Digicel Headquarters makes use of solar and wind power and has many energy-saving features installed.
