BVIEC goes ‘Green’

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) has announced that it is now in a position to ‘Go Green.’

As such, the company is inviting residents of the Virgin Islands (VI), “wishing to install distributed generation renewable energy systems” to obtain applications in order to become compliant with the relevant Acts and Regulations.

This, according to a public statement which said, “persons with existing renewable energy systems must submit applications in order to bring these systems in compliance the Act and Regulations.”

Approval has since been granted for grid-tie connections for customers with solar and/or wind Electric generating facilities of 50 kilowatts or less, or 500 killowatts and for customers
